We love a parade!

Last Saturday was the Fourth of July parade and fair in Mount Pleasant. I know it is a week early, but every year Mount Pleasant holds their festivities early so not to conflict with the neighboring town's events. Isn't that too cute? The parade goes right past our house, so Hannah got a good seat for her first parade. She liked everything but the fire trucks. They were all broadcasting their sirens at the same time as they went by... too much noise for all of us. Hannah seemed to be especially interested in the horses. After the parade, we went inside and Hannah followed Cole around and showed off her cute outfit. In some of the pictures you can see Hannah is perfecting her wave, its just too cute... and then Daddy tosses her in the air.

:)

P.S. As you can see Hannah's hair is slowly starting to take on a life of its own. Now don't get me wrong, if anybody could carry off circa 1982 Pat Benatar hair, its Hannah. However, if anyone has any suggestions in taming this wild beast - they would be greatly appreciated.

Turkey Fry in July!

It is that time of year again! This year our Turkey Fry will take place on July 1st. We are sending an evite, however, we don't have everyone's email address so I am putting all the information on here to cover my bases. Here's the details:
Location: The Davis Residence
When: Saturday, July 1st 4:00pm

Back by popular demand, it's time for our Turkey Fry in July! Beverages, fried turkey & chicken and various munchies will be provided. We kindly ask that you bring a covered dish to share and a comfy chair.

Kids are welcome! Birthday cake will also be served in honor of our daughter Hannah's first birthday (no gifts necessary). We'll have a kiddie pool set up for the kids and a horseshoe pit for the adults.

An amateur (yet impressive) fireworks show will begin after dark.

Hope to see you there!

What a difference 45 days can make.

As I was posting the last entry, I remembered that I have a previous bath time picture of Hannah taken in China. Maybe it is just me, but I see a big difference. What do you think?

Welcome Home Hannah Party

This past Saturday was Hannah's Welcome Home Party and it was a success! We were surprised by how many people were able to stop by. Hannah had finished her nap at 2:00pm (perfect timing because the party started at 2:00) and warmed up the house with her smile. Not after too long she allowed herself to be passed around - always keeping Mom or Dad in her sights. I got so busy talking it up with everyone that the only pictures I took were of the food before the party started... Nice. Sorry everyone! And thank you to those who helped with the party - Grandma & Grandpa, loved the balloons and the help with the setup and your tee shirts were so cute!, Charissa, the cupcakes were delicious and well worth the effort, Heidi, the cake was amazing and the much-needed beverages and Colleen, the fruit, veggie & cheese platters were the perfect appetizers (I need to get the recipe for the marinated cheese platter, so many people asked me). And we were so excited to share our house with everyone since we never got around to a housewarming last year. A great day!

I forgot to mention last week that Hannah has started to feed herself (Puffs & Cheerios of course) and this week we gave the inflatable tub back to Vici (thank you guys - it was perfect for China) and now Hannah is using the bath ring. We got her to start using the sippy cup, let's hope she can hold it herself before daycare starts. She rolls like a tumbleweed and shows alot of interest in moving around on her own. We keep working on her arm and leg strength. It's amazing how quick she catches on.

Pink Hat, Two Balls & One Tooth.

Not much to report here. All of Hannah's medical tests have come back normal, we have applied for her social security # and we are getting ready for Hannah's Welcome Home Party. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather is nice - I'd love to get her in the baby pool. Take care and we hope to see you on Saturday!

Why a sense of humor is needed.

Yesterday we were in Walmart (yes, I got Chris into Walmart) and the greeter came up to us when we were checking out and asked "What she mixed wit?", referring to Hannah in Chris's arms. Chris responded with, "Well, we just brought her home from China..." and she immediately asks "Oh China, how much that cost you?" By this time I was able to close my mouth and respond with "ahhh, about $15,000" and she continues with "That's not bad! I just love Asian babies. You see, my boyfriend is Korean, but we can't have any children since I got fixed."

I'm sure this is not the last of the strange comments we will get, although this is one of the funniest I have heard of. Let's just say we will not be heading to Walmart any time soon. No wonder Chris thinks they are destroying America.
